Bread Braid       Julene Cottle     

             

1 Tbsp dry yeast                      2 1/2 to 3 cups unbleached white flour

1 cup warm water                   1/4 cup potato flakes

3 Tbsp butter                           3 Tbsp dry milk

3 Tbsp honey                           1 tsp. salt

2 Tbsp dough conditioner       

     or dough pep

 

Add yeast to water to soften. Mix remaining ingredients including the yeast water and make a ball of dough. Then pour 1 tsp. corn oil in bowl, put the dough in bowl and turn over.  Let rise.   Divide dough into 3 parts and roll into long strips and braid on baking sheet coated with nonstick cooking spray or lined with parchment paper.

Let rise until doubled in bulk.  Bake at 350 degrees until lightly brown.
