5 cups flour

2 tsp. salt

2 cups shortening

¼ cup brown sugar

2 tsp. vanilla

¼ cup margarine or butter

1 can apple pie filling

Cinnamon, to taste

Glaze

 

Mix flour and salt, cut in shortening.  Add enough ice water to make dough.  Divide into 2 pieces.  Using 2 pieces of wax paper or plastic wrap, roll out dough to fit 9 x 13 inch pan.  Place in pan, going up the sides.  Combine brown sugar, vanilla, margarine, apple pie filling and cinnamon,  Pour into crust.  Roll remaining half of dough to fit top of the 9 x 13 pan.  After adding filling, put on top crust.  Crimp the edges.  Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes, or until lightly browned.  When cooled, top with glaze.

 

Glaze:  combine powdered sugar, cream, vanilla, salt and margarine and drizzle over top crust.
